Still laughing

Ok, so I might have a warped sense of humor. I have been known to laugh at the most inopportune times. Once I laughed at a funeral got nervous and couldn't stop laughing no matter how hard I tried. I know terrible! I did finally pull myself together. The other night after we both had a late night of working and a late dinner. I had to load a vanity and mirror into the back of my Explorer. Now it is around ten at night hubby had already donned his pj's and threw on his car hart jacket and slippers. We dragged this unusually heavy vanity through the garage and out to the shop where my suv was parked. So here we are trying to fit this vanity and awkward shaped mirror into the suv strategically as to not break the wings that extend off the mirror. So after several attempts to situate it he finally crawls into the back and squatting in there trying to better fit it in he turns to me and says I don't know if the back door will close like this. So me not even thinking (might of had a glass of wine prior to this so everything seemed a little funnier than it may have been) slammed the back door down. It shut fine but there was hubby squatting down in between the back window and the vanity. I scared him a bit as he wasn't expecting it to come slamming down while he was crammed in there. I smiled and said "it shuts."  He said "yeah I can see and you scared the crap out of me!" Sorry honey I promptly opened the door giggling a bit. Just a bit.So yesterday for some reason I just kept cracking up out of the blue of the image of him crammed in back there in his jammies and slippers. I texted him and told him I was still laughing about it. He didn't think it was so funny.Gotta love the man though that does that stuff for me not complaining a bit after he worked a fourteen hour day of building a garage. I only wish I'd had a camera at the time though.... Traci

More Shop pics

Ok, so here are the additional pics of some new things at the shop. I made this Happy Easter banner the other day. Had just hung it and a lady wanted it, so I obliged.

Thought these little bunnies were adorable!

Started making these fun burlap pillows. Love this little sewing table! Very springy color.

Another pillow I have a lot of free time so I sew quite a bit. I'm sure I will get tired of it sooner or later as we know my love hate relationship with it!

More signs! People love them but have only sold a couple and only asking $14.00 so I don't know!

Love this black sewing table! Got it for a song and a dance! Painted it and voila!
Another pillow! Great old bedspread I found at an estate sale.

Made this banner for the front door so people would know what's inside had a lot of peeping tom's! LOL

Here is one of the latest collages a lady wants a larger one so I will have to get busy on that.

Lots of rose plates seem to be my specialty they gravitate to me.

The collage that says it all about me! So hope you enjoyed the pics. I'm currently vegging on my couch and planning on doing a lot of nothing tonight. Traci

Drawing a blank

I want to be a better blogger I really do. Wish I was one of those incredibly talented person who seems to write wonderful posts without even trying. Words and exciting ideas seem to just burst out of every pore of their body. I just have had a lot going on lately in my life so I'm drawing a blank for a wonderful exciting post. Sorry! I'm just going day by day. My emotions have been all over the board it seems lately with my mom and what she is dealing with, my business, my own health trying to not let myself get to worn down or I won't be any good with my fibromialgia.
I have to say my mom is so amazing to be dealing with all she is and staying so strong and brave I'm afraid I would be wallowing in self pity and poor me syndrome. Not her though she is envisioning herself to overcome this and is accepting nothing less. Which all are believing with her!
My store has been doing really great for the first two weeks! The collages I did sold right away and I have a special order one. So I can't help but be excited about that!
I know I will eventually get into this new groove my life is taking and be able to provide some better posts. For know hope you all will hang in there with me. I know Some have asked for more pics from my shop and I will sometime this week get on that! So hope you all have a great week! Traci

It is so fun to create! Well I better get a move on. Small update on my mom she is now home and doing great! She has a couple weeks before she starts her treatments. She is staying so positive! I'm so proud of her. Continue to keep the prayers going please! Check out my facebook we have posted a fundraiser to help cover some expenses any help would be Greatly appreciated! Traci

The Shabby Nest

So here are the pics of the store. As you can tell it is small but perfect for starting out.

This desk sold the first day! So now trying to finish a project to put in there.

This little area is one of my favs. I tend to love cherries.

Here is the fireplace mantle we made and the big red chalkboard I made sold the first day too it hung above fireplace. I guess that's the name of the game though rearranging and replacing.

My desk and work station I wish could of been a little bigger kinda limiting when painting or creating and trying to keep room for customers to check out.

So now you have the grand tour. It has been really good the past three days! I have already made my rent. Not bad! I just have to keep on top of replacing and creating.

An update on my mom she made it good through her surgery but the biopsy came back that the mass was cancerous. They removed all they could see but those type of cancers grow tennacles and spread down into the tissue. They are going to run some more tests to see if it has spread anywhere else in the body. She will have to have radiation and chemo both. So she still has a lot to get through but we just keep praying and trying to stay positive. Traci

Blown away

I can't believe as I'm writing this post my mom is under going brain surgery. It was only on Tuesday my mom went to the Dr. and called me to say they had found a tumor in her brain. They sent her to the hospital to run more tests and admitted her. Yesterday they had assessed she had a mass on her brain they couldn't tell her really what it was they would need to go in and remove it to see what it is. So this morning they were going to do it. I'm just blown away at how fast life can throw you a curve ball. My mom is being so strong and brave she feels confident that she will be fine once they get it out. I only wish I didn't live so far away. She lives in Texas. I debated all day yesterday whether to fly down but decided to wait until we know more. Believe me that was a hard decision! I want to be there so bad! With the shop opening this week I figured I had better wait. Which by the way opened with a great success so far will post pics as soon as things settle down and have the time. I just pray all will turn out well. You know you never expect your parents will get sick well not so young anyway! My mom isn't even 60 yet. All we can do is pray and hope for the best! So if you get time please say a little prayer for her and my dad to stay strong. Traci
